Who it is for

What consultants invoice for.

For management, finance, marketing and HR consultants. You bill a few clients well: a retainer here, a block of days there, and travel on top.

  • Monthly retainers

On Pro, a recurring invoice is made on the same date each month with the same lines, ready for you to send. Change it once when the fee changes.

  • Fixed-fee engagements

Send the proposal figures as a quote, turn it into an invoice on approval, and take it in two or three part payments.

  • Day rates

Enter the days as the quantity and your day rate as the price. The tax and the total are worked out for you.

  • Travel and other costs you pass on

Add them as separate lines so the client sees your fee and the costs apart.

  • Clients in other countries

Pick the client’s country and currency on the invoice. The tax treatment for a customer abroad is set for you, and you check it before you send.

The tax, currency and invoice title follow your country. See your country

Getting paid

  1. Send it yourself

Share the invoice from your own email or any app on your phone. The track turns to Viewed when your customer opens it.

  2. Your customer sees how to pay

Each customer gets a page with what they owe and your account number and Routing number, as they are on the invoice.

  3. Match it from your statement

On Pro, upload your bank statement. Dates written like 10/05/2026 are read correctly, and you match each payment in one click.

FAQ

Questions from consultants.

Can I invoice a client in their own currency?

Yes. Currency is chosen per invoice, and a new invoice starts in your customer’s currency.

My client pays in instalments. How do I track that?

Record each payment against the invoice as it lands. The invoice stays open and shows the balance until it is paid in full.

How do I know when a retainer has been paid?

Record it yourself, or on Pro upload your bank statement and accept the matches we suggest by invoice number, amount and payer name.

Does it track my hours?

No. It is invoicing. Keep time where you keep it now and enter the hours or days as the quantity.
