Set for France

Made for how France invoices.

VAT

20% is the standard rate. 10% covers restaurants, transport and renovation work, 5.5% food, books and energy-saving work, and 2.1% a few items such as reimbursed medicines and the press. Locally the tax is called TVA.

VAT ID

The intra-community TVA number is FR, two check characters and your nine-digit SIREN.

EUR and local dates

Amounts are in euros, and you can pick another currency on any invoice. A bank statement you upload is read the way banks in France write dates.

Financial year from 1 January

Invoice numbers start a new series each January, so the first invoice of the year is OG/2026/0001.

Not connected: the e-invoicing reform. France is moving invoices between VAT-registered businesses onto approved e-invoicing platforms in stages from September 2026. Openn Invoice is not one of those platforms.

Does it connect to the e-invoicing reform?

France is moving invoices between VAT-registered businesses onto approved e-invoicing platforms in stages from September 2026. Openn Invoice is not one of those platforms.

I am not registered for VAT. Can I still use it?
