Set for Mexico

Made for how Mexico invoices.

IVA

IVA is 16%. The northern and southern border regions can use 8%, and food and medicines are at 0%.

RFC

The RFC is 12 characters for a company and 13 for a person.

MXN and local dates

Amounts are in Mexican pesos, and you can pick another currency on any invoice. A bank statement you upload is read the way banks in Mexico write dates.

Financial year from 1 January

Invoice numbers start a new series each January, so the first invoice of the year is OG/2026/0001.

What an invoice needs to show in Mexico.

The official invoice in Mexico is the CFDI, stamped through SAT. An invoice from Openn Invoice shows:

  1. Your name, address and RFC
  2. Your customer’s name and address
  3. An invoice number and the date
  4. What was sold, with quantity and price
  5. Any tax as its own line, at the rate you type
  6. The total, the due date and how to pay

Check with your accountant for your case.

Getting paid

  1. Send it yourself

Share the invoice from your own email or any app on your phone. The track turns to Viewed when your customer opens it.

  2. Your customer sees how to pay

Customers pay by SPEI bank transfer. Print your bank and CLABE, and add a payment link if you take cards.

  3. Match it from your statement

On Pro, upload your bank statement. Dates written like 05/10/2026 are read correctly, and you match each payment in one click.

Keeping track

Who owes you, and what you sold.
